Hi all,
I am trying to decide on a colour for my next early Elan project and have been trying to find pictures of blue Elans. I am especially looking for 26R pictures with no roof. I am considering the factory colours French Blue, Royal Blue, Medici Blue, but also other dark metallic colours such as Ecurrie Ecosse Blue. I also have an S3 SE DHC in GM IROC Blue BTW. Please post pictures of your blue Elans and especially 26R in blue, to help me decide, and also as motivation to get my project moving...

Thanks for the suggestion. I have already done multiple searches and my google searches did turn up a few partial pictures of members blue Elans and 26Rs on here, which is why I posted the request. I was hoping to get some conversation going so that I can learn more about the original colour codes and the colour codes of the pictures posted as well. I have been working on building a list of factory Elan colours and production dates with pictures attached (including the multiple factory yellow Elan shades), but at the same time I am also looking for reference pictures of non-factory colours but possibly period race team colours. I thought this would be a useful thread to have on here...

who bought the car from the owner who painted it, and then Steve sold it to the man who sold it to me.
I am now the 13th owner.
I love the colour even though it isn`t screaming yellow!
As an aside I also think the S3 DHC is the best looking car in the range.
I will admit to a slight bias on that.

Thank you, thank you!! I knew that you folks would jump in to help. Please tell me about International blue. That's a great colour. Were any S1 Elans or 26Rs painted International Blue by the factory? Would that by chance be the colour that Lance Reventlow painted his Scarab? Does anyone have paint codes for International Blue? Also Commemorative blue, which I assume from your comment was the colour used for the Rob Walker racecars back in the day. Is that correct? Would anyone have a full view of an Elan in Commemorative Blue? I love Medici Blue but I am worried that it may attract too much attention from the local constabulary... I one had a bright red Elan and got a ticket in my first week with it. I have also always loved French Racing Blue but I have the same concern with it...
