My Elan+2 project is with a local dealer who has agreed to sell it. Trouble is, the car taking some sweet time to move and I've had too long to think over Christmas so I've got all twitchy. As a result I want to do something else with it. Do people with experience of the following have ideas what these options may cost, and how easy it is to obtain parts for:
A: Rebuild with existing chassis and body, new Zetec engine and gearbox. Sell old twin cam. Minimal interior bucket seats, racey look etc... does anyone know whether there is some sort of kit I can get for this that is proven?
B: Rebuild and race prep twin cam engine, retain gearbox. Minimal interior bucket seats, racey look etc...
C: Keep it up for sale.

Bring a trailer website seems to offer all kinds of projects to concours examples with lots of interest and activity from around the world so that might be a possibility to get lots of action on it and really see how it my do. The other options that you propose are certainly longer-term and more involved and certainly the antithisis of unloading it. Gordon Sauer

Well, you're asking for an opinion so FWIW here is mine: if you don't want to make it more or less stock I'd put it up on Bring a Trailer / fleabay , unload it to someone who wants a +2, and get an Elise. You'll get a lot more performance with a lot less aggravation that way. Engine swaps / restorations are a lot of work and you should only do them if you want the project more than the final result.

Sage advice, especially if you're interested in near term driving satisfaction.
