Carmen Red
I know you think i'm inter fearing but if you want the colour code etc let me know because i use ALLOT of this colour, its slightly darker then Signal red but often gets mistaken for it.
May well have been the base for Lotus L05 Carnival Red but looking at the mix its quite a bit different.

I must be getting confused with Carmine Electra.

Well if you see a pre 1968 Jag in the classic postbox red park next to it because there will be a good chance it's Carmen. (Signal was a new colour for the S2 E-type) as i said its a very common Jag colour.
Btw isn't Carmine a male name

It is very difficult to convey sarcasm, humour, inuendo and other subtleties of speech over what is essentially a text-only-communication tool.
What is a clever jibe at your end is read at face value at the other end but you know that right.
Btw, i'll tell Carmine at work he's got a girls name sure it will go down well (he thinks he was named after Carmine Galante the gangster ), Carmen like Carmen Electra is a girls name but you knew that too right? Just some sort of clever dig no one else gets
Anyway back to the op Regency Red.

My Sprint was originally Regency red over white, but when I bought her she had been resprayed black over white (too much for one of the previous owners I guess). When I had the bodywork stripped I had planned to take her back to 'original' but then I heard the word 'maroon' and saw a yellow over white car in the workshop .. Somehow I felt 'maroon' more suited to a BL (British Leyland) car such as a Marina and I thought the Gold Leaf colours of red and white were going to be too common, which probably explains why every other Sprint I come across is yellow over white.
