What is this??

I found a bag of these things with the tag shown 12 - 36D1154. I'm guessing "12" is the quantity, although there aren't 12 in the bag. Bean's parts price list doesn't show this number but I wouldn't be surprised if this bag is mislabeled. But either way, what is it?

What's the material Greg? The 'D' refers to a group of parts - rear suspension I think.

Correct... I checked with 036D & could not find any 1xxx part numbers...

Spacer that sits on top of some rear damper tubes? Mine aren't shaped however. I may have a pic of them....

I'll even say this may not be a Lotus Part. The cache of parts I'm going through includes Alfa and Fiat, and
some English Ford stuff. Keep an open mind.

36 refers to Type 36 ie FHC Elan.

Picture of the spacer used on later Plus 2 rear suspension. I have never seen them used on an Elan but maybe Lotus experimented at some time with a slightly different one on the Elan thus the 36 number
