Hi new member and.. This is a con!

PostPost by: Fish » Mon Nov 10, 2014 5:29 pm

Hi

Just joined as a new member and am thinking of getting an S3 or S4 and have been looking around. Please be aware everyone that this add and setup is a con. They are using the name of a repair garage to con people out of money. I've spoken to the genuine owner and the police are aware...

Do not touch..

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181576398244? ... EBIDX%3AIT

Hope that helps someone..also anyone with a nice Elan for sale!

I think a few Members have been playing with these guys

free-parking-f45/mine-t32715.html

for-sale-f34/ebay-t32713.html

Unfortunately its the world we live in nowadays that the unscrupulous will try to separate people from the money given half a chance.

But hey Welcome and you'll find this Forum a wealth of Elan knowledge.

Was going to recommend this Elan..........

http://www.classic-auctions.com/Auction ... 38680.aspx

BUT!! Just got back from the viewing day, car is not bad but imho its had a below average repaint and the 50p effect on the drivers rear quarter doesn't inspire confidence in the person that did the work neither does the loose boot lid., but that said it was taken to bits to be painted so no dodgy masking lines. But that is the worse bit allot of the original bits are there including the original door seal (no comment on the wing repeaters) and it had a roll bar / Inertia seat belts fitted.

Would probably look much better outside but the lights show every little bubble and mark. I think it will go for the same sort of money as the S4 that went at the last auction (high teens)

Previously failed to sell at a guide of ?28k-?32k. It looks very reasonable and I`m going to the preview this afternoon so will report back in a separate thread.

Welcome to the forum James.

I'm vaguely aware of Camsley Lane in Lymm, it is a very short road with only one place which looks like it might have been a farmhouse; having looked at it on Bing satellite-view it seems unlikely that any of the cars they are advertising were photographed at that location. Also the telephone number given is a Manchester number, rather than one in Lymm.

Good luck with your quest.

I find it incredible that Ebay haven't pulled the advert yet...... I reported it as fraudulent as soon as I saw it and I'm sure others have done the same.
Kindest regards

Deryck,

I think we may have a soft spot for Lambrettas in common !

Mine is the white S2 that Ken and Neil are currently working on.
