S4 Anomalies

Gents

The query relates to what is a very unmolested (though tired)Canadian Export S4. One owner, collected at the Lotus factory in 1970,registered by the factory at Norfolk. Driven around Europe for a month before being shipped back to Canada. Taken off the road in 1980.

The boot handle - Ford 105E Anglia - has anyone seen similar on an ?lan before? The boot latches are 105E.

The wiper jets - Grey - likewise anyone seen similar?

Both jets and handle as the car left the factory.

Incidentally the car is now in the UK and with the support of Club Lotus and Norfolk County Council has been reunited with its original UK plate.

It also has the petrol tank placed in between the rear uprights, about which we have posted before. It seems predominantly the Canadian cars thus fitted. If that was the case then perhaps the revised boot handle was put onto those Canadian S4s as another 'safety' enhancement. And perhaps the washer jets broke off more easily when hit by a pedestrians head!
