How do I flash the headlights .....

.....on my S4?
I have had it about 6 years, done lots of miles but I don't know how to flash the headlights!
So stupid question really!
I was tidying up some of the wiring and checked various connections, so I know the relay and flasher unit are both in place.
But is there a switch to flash the headlights?
Related to this, does anyone have a soft copy of the original Elan drivers handbook?
Thanks
Bruce

On the S1 and S2, you just pop up the headlights without turning them on with the switch and they come up flashing. I'm not sure about the later cars. If the headlight flasher is in place, I would assume that they operate on the S4 as they do on the S2.

Geeez. Over here flashing lights could get you shot at or run off the road ...Or a brake test ...I just wait for a opening and blast by
dont close your eyes --you will miss the crash

On some of the cars like mine you can flash the lights by pulling the dip/main stalk towards you, as in towards the steering wheel but, due to the switch design it only works if the switch is set to high beam!
I have the habit now of always putting the switch into high beam position during the day so my flasher works!

The auto headlamp flasher on my sprint doesn't work - there's a relay in there somewhere, but if I lift the lights on the vacuum switch then pull the dipswitch they flash. I road tested a possible purchase years ago, it was a dull day so I lifted the lamps and wondered what the ticking was - the headlamps were flashing while I found the light switch!
