A good news story

I was looking for a Philips Turnolock radio for my Elan and have missed a number over time. Taking a leisurely look with Google I spotted an ad for one advertised on Gumtree, so following the ad through I saw that a chap in Guildford was advertising one free to a good home.
I could not believe my eyes FREE kept jumping off the page, then of course reality started to sink in, was this for real, would it still be available, was it a scam, so with haste I picked up the phone and rang the number. A lady answered and confirmed that indeed the radio was still available if I wanted to call and collect, problem we live over a hundred miles apart.
Would her husband perhaps be prepared to post it if I paid the fees, she thought that would be ok but I would need to call her husband later. Can you imagine my good fortune, indeed the chap was more than prepared to do this after explaining the problem and it was indeed free.
But it does not stop there as he went on to explain that he had bought the radio in the 70's and transferred it between a few cars before finally removing it to storage. The radio had been packed away in all its original boxes and packaging just as it had been supplied, the radio in one box, the speaker and brackets and wiring in the other and then put into the original manufacturers outer packaging together with the original brochure and fitting kit. The only thing missing was the radio handbook and he kept apologising for its loss.
Although he was prepared to offer the radio free to a good home, I could not accept his offer, but sent enough to cover postage and a decent bottle to go with Sunday lunch, still a lot less than I had bid on many occasions before. The parcel duly arrived and true to his word there it was in all the old packaging, a little worn from the years but the contents were all in fine order. I rang and confirmed its safe arrival, he was thrilled it had come to a good home and more than happy at his little unexpected 'treat'. I ended up having a long chat where it turned out he had worked for Tyrell and other F1 teams some years ago and met numerous interesting people, but what a nice chap he turned out to be.
It proves that there are a lot of genuine people out there, having just read about the chap on the Forum who lost money to a scammer who is even now still advertising the same scam car, I thought it might be good to read some good news for a change.

Brilliant story!
I bet if you blow on it a small cloud of "fairy dust" travels across the room
