So sad (me I mean) but if the car is a late model 72/73 Sprint why is the ignition key on the dashboard, I though that was a S4 feature...?
Great little review though

I was wondering about that too!

I had not seen the EVO review before, I really enjoyed it... Thanks for posting.

Fighting talk...

Surely (don't call me surely) replacement dashes are available for the Sprint?

Only difference (as far as I am aware) is the ignition key moved to the column so there's no hole for it on the Sprint dash. 2nd Sprint I have seen this month with a S4 dash...

Phil, this is my original Federal Sprint dash. The 'D' shaped hole to the left of the 'wash' switch is for an ignition switch, per the owners manual. Mine, of course, has a blanking plate, so I think the dashes are generic.

I watched this video a month or two ago and what struct me was the comparison of what it take for and Elan to get around a corner and what it takes a Maserati. Take a look.....1960s Elan rubber vs 2000s Maserati rubber......less is indeed more!

I too saw this video on youtube a month or so ago. Amazing the difference in tyre size. You could make a whole set of Tyres for an elan out of the rubber used for one of those and I bet the elan tyres do more miles too.

First aired here earlier this year: elan-photos-f18/nice-elan-video-evo-t25033.html

Harry's Sprint was bought by him in 1993 and then restored, which is when I suspect it received it's replacement dash. His is one of the later Sprints with Dellortos and would originally have had the ignition switch integrated into the steering column below the dashboard (though some of the later S4s also had them ? those due for European export to France & Germany). Some early Sprints and S4/Sprints had the ignition on the dash.
