I thought I`d add to this as I took this pic. with the dog bigger. Lotus owners being predominantly nice they must like dogs, though some might be a bit precious about dog hairs.
I made this board some time ago and it works really well and, I reckon, the dog likes the Lotus more than some people`s wives. Mrs. T for one.

Jim

What colour is your retriever?

And did it come from the factory like that?

If so, it must be one of those rare options. I've never seen one before so thanks for sharing.

Tim

PS I like the shelf idea too!

My brother said a short while ago that, by law, dogs have to be restrained in the car when driving, so I hope you made provision for a dog harness there too.

Tim, yes Lotus dog did come in Sprint colours with tan ears and cream body but has now oxydised into what people (whoever they are) call caramel, as we hoped. We didn`t want a whiter one worrying about interbreeding and his mother was a skinny, working dog, almost as red as a setter. His father was like a polar bear.
Unfortunately, cute though he is, a lady who pre-trains guide dogs described him recently as "highly strung" which I think is polite-speak for "barmy".
Bill, yes to you too. You can just see a blue strap, admittedly not a harness, so we don`t get 50kg of dog meat around our ears in the event of a mishap. It`s also to prevent untimely exit over my paintwork.
Incidentally, though not car related, his name is Riley.

I was reminded tonight, out for a curry with old school pals like every Wednesday, that one of them sat in the back of our then Elan all the way to Italy in 1971. We had camping gear and luggage for 3 too, though I did have a luggage rack on the boot lid. He was slimmer then, unrestrained and complained a lot. Ingrate.
