Can anyone help me identify my 1970 S4 Elan? The ID plate reads-
"Manufactured by Lotus Cars Ltd
Month/Year of manufacture 2/70
Vehicle Identification number 0031K
This Vehicle conforms to all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards in effect on the date of manufacture shown above"
The above is on a small aluminium plate screwed onto the top of the nearside pedal box.
The reg.no. is BHY***H which I believe is Bristol.
Was the car imported from the USA? I believe it was raced over there. There is no sign of the car being converted from LH drive
Thanks for any replies

As well as that plate that shows when manufactured, there should be a larger VIN plate with full chassis number & engine number, please e-mail me a picture of that to [email protected] and i'll check the archives,
Andy
