Is there a way too tell if an Elan came from the factory as a fixed head coupe?

Vin or unit # is 68 36/8016

36 means Coupe, if it were 45 it would be convertible.

Your Elan left the factory as a FHC (36), unit no 8016, with a Stromberg fitted Federal engine (G), no 16155 on an unspecified date in approx Jun/Jul 1968
