Finger in the air, intake of breath...?7-10k?
Is it all there? If so then obviously more attractive.
Any advances?

Sounds about right, maybe even a tad more if it has the original stuff like steering wheel.

I`ve been to see this today and even the tarpaulin it`s been under is a basket case. Apart from the steering wheel, maybe bonnet, and missing passenger glass it`s complete. Supposedy an S3 SE with bolt on wheels (?) with a green log book and owned since 1978 the petrol tank, for example, is brown dust. The suspension is heavily corroded and the condition is just shocking....but complete. It`s been off the road since about 1979 and stored outside for the last 2 years. Tim, does this affect your valuation?

Not quite everything there Jim, so room for negotiation. But if you don't want it for ?5k, someone will for around ?7k, I wouldn't wonder! Lovely patina of age!

Looks a bit like mine when I first saw it.
It's clearly had a hard life and appears to be wearing a S4 front end.
It shouldn't be worth much at all, but in these crazy times we live in ............

It's not for me I'm afraid. I can see an enthusiast without the funds for a good car thinking that this is the only option for Elan ownership and therefore the price getting bumped up by people in the same predicament.
Looking at the photos, I think it would probably cost less to build an Elan from new and second hand parts then to resurrect this one.
Jim in one of the photos you were kind enough to send me it looks as if the car has woodworm or has been peppered by a shotgun!
I can't imagine what horrors the engine holds in store - Jim perhaps you should post the engine bay photo?
If a sale can be made, I sincerely wish the future owner the best of luck.

Does it come with a blank set of divorce papers?
Cheers,
Pete.
