Well Guys
My 63 turned over 50,000 miles this spring - all by me.
Mind you, the first 25 k were hard driven ones, I bought the car from the factory for hill climbing and club racing. That all got shut down on my rock over 35 years ago. It has scince been driven frequently, sprightly and enjoyably on our back roads. Vancouver Islands roads don't go too far before you hit the Pacific ocean at one end or the other so long road trips are out.
After 30 + (95-97) years I did a total rebuild and engine / runing gear refresh just to keep it going smoothly for another 25 or 30.
Except for the Lucas stsrter (now Nissan) no major problems.
In deference to agged back 'tho, I just purchsed a maxJax 2 post hoist - I figure I should be able to work on it well into the future - even from a wheelchair - no more floor jacks, creepers and 2 day back convolecences afterwords.
SO!! -- Should I stand in running for the lowest average document miles per year recognition?
Keep your stick on the ice boys!

Ralph, I think that Brian B has done over 600,000 miles in his S3 Coupe....or a round 1,000,000 kilometers!!!
I somehow doubt that there is an Elan with a higher mileage, although I know of a chap with an S4 Coupe that has clocked up 500,000 miles since 1973.
It must be that the Coupes are just so comfy!!

Yes, and I think it says as much about their owners, too. Understanding the nature of the beast and how to care for it. Unlike those in the hands of some in the past...

It's all a bit vague but I think mine's done somewhere around 200,000 miles - or at least parts of it have However most of those have been during sudden spurts of enthusiasm followed by none at all for extended periods when I've thrown a cover over the car in the garage in disgust. If it hadn't been for the truth in L.O.T,U.S. it'd probably be double that by now. I suppose it just goes to show what you can do if you just keep at it - all our daily driver cars, from more err.. mainstream manufacturers have not made it much past 150,000 before going to the great recycling scheme in the sky.
