Thanks Paul; I recall that quite a few years ago the HSCC decided that Elans were winning too many races so put them against much heavier metal; iirc quite a few Elan folks voted with their feet. I sort of think that this might have been one of the reasons that the CSCC came about.

HSCC put the top Elans against Chevron B8 racing cars earlier this year, several of the most developed 26/Rs voted with their feet again.

Look forward to seeing how many millimeters were to spare!

Excellent stuff Paul. Close but fair.

I noticed this major Elan smash was listed alongside on you-tube. Amazing damage, also amazing that he could still move, with only three wheels on his wagon.

Thanks for some excellent photos as usual! I have some quite good rear facing video of Peter Shaw's S1 which tracked me for the whole race - I'll see if I can edit it down to something manageable and post it.

Shame to see Mark Halstead's Elan mauled (presumably by the Marcos?) - those Tony Thompson shells certainly do seem quite thin!

Did you get any photos of Vicky Brooks and Andy Shepard (Lotus 7) battling it out?

A lovely sunny October day; some good showings by our Elan representatives. EDIT; practice times were set on a VERY damp track with cold temperatures!
