The topic of what does your Elan look like today seemed to be some fun for many folks here. Maybe this ones been done before but I don't remember it. I saw Marks photo of his garage over in the EBAY is over the top topic and thought that it may make a bit of fun to see what others have in behind the closed door. Many I have seen are a lot neater than mine and some you can't see the cars (Is there a Lotus in there?).
So, whats in your garage?
So, whats in your garage?

The photo is a couple years old, here is one from an hour ago. I think I am going to have a mk1 Cortina sale in the spring. I need some room and the Cortina(s) seems to have a dull glow to them.

Gary,
Sorry, I'd like to join in, but ...
A while back I was burning the midnight oil in my garage...i.e. the lights were on but also the double door was open. Two days later unwanted visitors lifted most of my power & hand tools...
just in time for the weekend car boot sales!
(Luckily the Elan parts were untouched...more identifiable I guess...)
Coincidence? The police didn't think so!
(Another car was being worked on at the time. When it came to finish it and get rid...one of the wheel arch liners was missing, presumably used as a "sling" for carrying tools away, together with a box...a box containing the special fitted bolts from the suspension in it!)
I've been a bit paranoid since then...

I am sorry that problem exists for you and others too. Seems like some problems have no solution. My neighbor 2 houses down the street was rebuilding his house a couple years ago. He is a Massachusetts State Trooper and had his garage emptied of tools and they took the 8 foot Snow plow too. Stuff happens everywhere. Get a dog!

OK I'll bite. This was back about four years ago and things have changed alot since. The wife thought I should clean and sort out everything. What joy is in that, it is fun to dig for a part for hours. You find so much stuff you forgot you have!
I will post updated photos later.

This is my side of the garage. The other side belongs to my wife and contains her Jetta and her bike. Not pictured: the X-C skis and snowshoes that I didn't get around to putting in the basement and now I might just as well wait for winter. My third bike (an old touring Fuji that I converted to fixed gear) is in the basement. The armchair is waiting to be thrown out - looks OK but the cats had their way with it...

I love the sound of a torque wrench in the morning. Sounds like... progress.

The annual streetfair moved on a week ago so we're more or less pikey free now and the crime rate should be falling back to its usual low level (for this part of, err... Devon
) so I'm happy to risk a picture. This is the garage as it was yesterday, with the front of the Elan on ramps and various bikes in various stages of disrepair. Pack 'em all back in and I do struggle to swing any of the local cats I frequently find in there "claiming their territory". Sadly my frequent suggestions that what we really need is a garage extension falls on deaf ears.

It made it into the garage last winter but it's outside at the moment because the Fazer 600 is in it's place for new fork seals. There will be more room for it when it returns as the mill has been moved to it's final resting place. I'm really envious of those with their barn-like shops although there is the downside of having the space for even more 'rubbish'!
