So what does your Elan/Plus2 look like today?
I'm sad to report my car has been of the road for 5 years. I got carried away on the restoration, then lacked dedication. I try to plod along and stay at it, but my sons karting always seems to have more urgency.
Hopefull it will be on the road for Christmas...

Hey bast0n:
Is your other car an Apache helicopter? Nice poster. And what's the series on your car? It's got a lovely, clean look to it. No worries from me about being non-traditional.
James - that looks like a fun garage. Good house to grow up in, I'm thinking.
Cheers,
Dave

Bilcoh Dave - it is an S3 SE with a Sprint plus engine. It is my daily driver and my main hobby. Had it nearly 25 years. The poster/photo was my job.

Don't you all just think the S3 is the best looking by a country mile.....................
Retreat back into bunker now to avoid incoming.
Goodnight all,
D

Bast0n - I'll bite on that one, being an S2 owner
, and which is, of course, the very best Elan of all. Frankly, any Elan posing for that particular picture would look great. But I do like the S2/S3 tail lights most of all the choices, and have to say I'm partial so the boot lid of the S2 (also the S1 lid, right?)
Greg - Which of you guys got to run back to the car before the timer went off?
Paul - this looks like a "What's different" photo. Let's see....the fence is different, the bumper and wheel color is changed, there isn't a bulge in the bonnet for carbs, the window is rolled up, the side badge position is changed, can't tell in the 1st photo if it's a RHD or LHD, so that may or may not have changed. Actually, is this the same car?

Hi bast0n, I put Col de l'Iseran into google earth. Wow. That must have been an amazing route. I've been skiing in that area in the winter (le Corbier 50km away - seems close from here anyway). Can't wait 'till I can go back in the elan. My broken knee sort of stops me going back for skiing
. Excellent pic.
Sean.

Hi Dave,
This is my Elan re-acquaintance - different car although same age; same country lane - despite the curse of the double-yellow lines. The driver's acquired a few extra lines too during the thirty-two year gap between these cars...

It is a fantastic photo, isn't it?
So if we organised an Elan Alps trip, who would be up for it? And don't answer here please because we would be in deep trouble for thread drift. I'll post a new thread under "Elan Alpine Raid"

or the Pyranees - some really great roads criss crossing the border. It is a long way to drive but for those of a weak disposition the ferry to Santander is excellent. D
