Specification???

PostPost by: Elise » Mon Feb 28, 2011 7:39 pm

Hi, this is probably a bit of a daft question, but I've been searching the web and can't find an answer. My 1969 elan s4 is badged up as an 'se'. Can anyone tell me, or let me know where I can find out, what the specification difference is between an s4 'se' and non s4 if there is one? :?
Thanks
Elise

Take a look at the following while you wait for folks to chime in. Mark has detailed the differences at the following link. As usual there seems to be a difference of opinion on what is and what isn't an SE. It probably depended on what was in stock and what they had just run out of...

This was found by a search of

Here's the sales sheet for the S4 showing what S/E bits were fitted. The specification did change over time...for example, the S3 S/E had the 3.55 diff as standard, but for the S4 S/E it was optional.

Thanks for the links and info.
-Garry, you've got more skill with search engines than me, I was struggling to find anything!

-My computer isn't letting me download the large version of the s4 sales sheet, but I'll give it a go at work tomorrow!

Thanks again,
When I've got an engine back in my car, I'll post some pictures :)

Interesting!

My S3 has all of those S/E features in the brochure (except possibly she didn't start out with 115 BHP) but I don't recall her ever having any S/E badges.
