Welcome to the Forum Geoff.
+1 on the Workshop Manual and Parts List. They are both essential for pretty much any repair, and the exploded diagrams are very helpful.

Edited to remove a link I posted as pointed out by Gary below. I will adjust the post on the other thread where I posted the same link. Don't want to interfere with Jeff's efforts.

Welcome!
Both the Parts List and Workshop Manual, allied to Brian Buckland's book, will provide you with a wealth of information on our cars. The cream on top is that you now also have access to all the expertise that lies within these four virtual walls - the forum!

Hi Stuart
take a look at Jeffs post:

"As a side note, I have started conversations with Lotus on the right to use the Lotus Elan workshop material. One of the stumbling blocks are individuals are selling scanned versions of the manual online. This is a violation of copyright law. We will be going through the forums and removing post and attachments that are selling of Lotus copyright material.

I believe that the site you quote with you link is one of the thorns that Jeff may be speaking of. Please think about it a bit.
