Being both an Elan and an M3 owner, I would think that if the BMW driver had put his coffee cup into his cup holder for a few laps he should have been able to walk away from the Elan. That Elan driver sure got everything out of that car it had to give.

So was the windscreen wiper helping with the aerodynamics? :) Excellent vid - shows the power of cornering ability.

If the M3 was driven correctly and not had the driver braking in all the wrong places he would have disappeared. To quote Jim Clark, if you braked there and didn't have an accident, you didn't need to brake.

As far as the Elan is concerned. He should try fitting the standard steering wheel and drive correctly, then he would have disappeared. At times he has over a 1/4 turn lock on. Is he racing or trying to park? Induced understeer is alive and well.

What a great video... And the proof: Intelligence wins over simple power!

The windshield wiper was my favorite. My car does that too.
