Sprint FHC GTY 329L Any info?

I was chatting to a friend of my son's father at a Graduation Ceremony in Leeds recently.
We soon got chatting about cars and he told me he used to own a Lagoon Blue FHC Sprint GTY 329L back in the 1970s - rather a coincidence as my Sprint is an L reg, Lagoon Blue FHC! He thinks his old Sprint was originally registered in Whitley Bay.
I promised to see if anyone [such as Tim!] had any info on this particular Sprint's history.

Sadly it looks as if the car is no longer. It doesn't show up on the DVLA records and I have no record of it either. It does have a Newcastle registration, of course.
Sorry

Would the DVLA records indicate if it was purchased and shipped overseas?

I'm not surprised; it has most likely rusted away if it was registered IN Whitley Bay, rather than AT Whitley Bay.
Cheers,
Pete.

It may be that it has been off the road in a shed or barn etc for a very long time, i.e. before DVLC got so nosy as to want to know where all the off road cars were as well with their pesky SORN stuff.

Whitley Bay is a town in North Tyneside, in Tyne and Wear, England. It is on the North Sea coast and boasts a fine stretch of beach of golden sand forming a bay stretching from St. Mary's Island in the north to Cullercoats in the south. The town, which has a population of 36,544,[1] became a holiday destination for the people of North East England and Scotland and remained popular in this regard until the 1980s. The town is now widely seen as a dormitory town for Newcastle upon Tyne.

I feel I have to defend my grammar again - Whitley Bay is a town, admittedly with salty sea air!

When I purchased my sprint (off the road since 1982) the DVLA had no record so it may be holed up in storage... you never know!
As I had the original log book was able to have the original registration number reinstated.
I was discussing this matter of holed up classic cars with a friend recently and we pondered on whether the Beeb ought to have a program based on the 'Antiques Road Show' this might bring to light many classic british cars - there must be many sitting in lock up garages, barns etc waiting to see the light of day...
