I thought everyone would have done what I did a few months back and downloaded it from a post on lotuselan.net with a complete elan manual someone had scanned and posted here. Hmm makes me think I shoudl print and start selling ....

Anything to help Elans stay on the road.
What's the weight drop on an Elan S4 after converting to zetec chassis and engine?
Eric
Just in case your question is serious?
My S4 weighs in at 720 Kg with 50/50 weight distribution, converted as in your question.
Added lightness via Aluminium bits from TTR :- Diff' nose, G'box Tail shaft Housing & Bellhousing.
Also Alloy Tank & Radiator & lightweight wiring loom where possible.
John
Oh & to rub it in, Engine output 185 HP

You could go the whole hog and change the body to a Mondeo.......would it still be a Lotus........?
Happy Ford motoring

Each to his own mate.
Your kind wishes are appreciated.

David has obviously changed his Ford block, crank, rods, pistons, flywheel, clutch, sump, starter, dynamo, gearbox, differential, rear struts, switches, heater, cables...and of course the Triumph front suspension and radiator for some genuine Lotus parts. Alternatively David, if you put an Anglia body on it would your Elan be a 105E?

...actuaaally... I was just joking, but there seems to be a bit of interest there. If I did them in sepia maybe I could pass them off as unissued factory stock.
Could also do a V10 Viper one to...
I too have never tried a Zetec, but would like to.

I like your postscript - good luck to you with the Zetec no one usually complains with more power.
A good friend has just installed a 250 bhp supercharged engine into his Mk 2 Golf GTI - (I believe the original output was around 135bhp - he is having a ball as his oft calls from his mobile just after burning of one of the latest Mk 5 GTI's tells me...
Fun comes in many different guises and long may ingenuity rule the roost.
