Lotus Elan Factory Workshop manual online

PostPost by: garyeanderson » Wed Jan 07, 2009 1:03 pm

The S1, S2, Coupe service parts book used to be online but the site is gone. Likewise the S1 workshop manual is also gone.

Hi Gary - have you got a local copy of the missing files that could use use to upload again?

Hi Steve

Elan_S1_S2_Coupe_Masterpartslist.pdf - 15 megabytes

Elan_Type_26_Service_Manual.pdf - 40 magabytes

Yes I have copies of both but no way to get them uploaded unless you know of a host that I can put them on.

It might be prudent to check with the Lotus lawyers first.

Thanks guys. Great links. Anyone know of workshop manual for the Plus 2?

Also find the parts catalog on Ray's site very handy, although I don't think they can be saved to your own computer:

Any chance these links could be put in the Library section?

I'm not sure if Jeff wants to put them up on elan.net even if I could get them off of my computer. Its been available before and I have posted links as have others and those that took the time to follow the links posted have copies of it now. I tried to mail the smaller one to Steve with outlook and it died after tranfering 17 meg (hour and 45 minutes with dialup) and now I can't get the mail to send anything. My Yahoo mail has a 10 meg limit on messages so its stuck on my pc for now. maybe someone else has it and is not dialup challenged like I am.

I use yousendit to send large files. It is free. There are other services available also.

I have a website with room for several manuals. If you can send it either through the Internet or snail-mail a CD-ROM to me I'll make it available to everyone on LotusElan.net.

I am still working on a method to upload the files. Dialup isn't an option right now. The PC is a piece of junk from where I worked 7 years ago, there's no CD burner. It does have a usb port so I am going to upload some pdf's onto the gigabyte flash card in the camera and off load the files to some people that have more modern junk then I do. Stay tuned...

I managed to download the entire manual, I suspect that the issue with the Intro and sections A and B is the size.... 16mb, 5.6mb and a massive 31mb respectively means that it takes a while (go make a cup of tea).
I saved to external HDD and now just need a cheapy PC to run in the shed and access the manual on an LCD
