Took the +2 into have its MOT today..
Had been too busy to prepare it, but had taken a few days off before Xmas to sort out all the issues ready for the retest next week (even booked the car it in for it ahead of time...)
Well, what happened.... It passed!!!
The leaky exhaust was marked as minor and hence an advisory, and the long pull to get the handbrake to act was ignored as it is expected for a lotus..!!
Only downside, the tester snapped the interior door handle off, so for the first time ever the tester was more worried about what I was going to say rather than the normal reverse situation for an MOT!
So, where do I get a new/old stock handle (are they from the maxi?)
Cheers
Tim (best Xmas present santa could have bought!!)

It's a common misconception that Lotus use Maxi door handles, they don't . Most of these Wilmot and Breedon flap type door handles, be thay Maxi, Allegro, MG or even Aston Martin V8, are all subtly and hence are not directly interchangeable.
Having said all that, however, if it's only the plastic flap thats broken a second hand door handle from any of the above cars can easily be dismantled and the appropriate parts salvaged. Just don't throw the original Lotus item away untill you're sure you've got bit you need from it
Regards
Andy

Tim,
Glad to hear of your unexpected good fortune !
BUT, you say:
"Well I guess it had to happen once!"
So it's just downhill from now, then ?
Regards,
Stuart.
(ok I admit me fingers were crossed)
