Novel approach for the front number plate-but do they have a slim-line number plate that would fit on the bumper in the US?

Wow! That looks like a very original car. Looks like mine did when it was new I imagine... Correct seats, badges, raised nose, SE trim strips, black lower sills, etc. Mine came with the sidelight holes filled in - perhaps this was a later modification, or perhaps it was part of the major repair mine needed...
I wonder if it's on the original (sound?) chassis too...
As you say, not sure about the front bumper 'dent' though
And surely you'd want to get rid of the emissions cross-over pipes to get it to run right, unless that's illegal...
