Hi all, I'm just enquiring if anyone knows the whereabouts of a S4 SE DHC, reg VYT 289 G.
A good friend of mine owned it from early 1970 when it was about 6 months old.
He blew the engine up racing a Jensen interceptor on the M4 not long after buying it !! He then spent alot of money and had the engine re-built by BRM (Mike Spence) who gave it the full treatment, he reckon's it was the fastest elan he ever drove back then.
He sold it on that same year (he thinks) but ended up owning it a few more times till the mid 70's when he sold it once more (Windsor area) and never saw it again.
It was the best and most memorable elan he ever owned, he tells me ! I looked up the reg no. on the DVLA so knew it was on the road till 1989. I wonder if it still had it's BRM engine then ? If it's your car and you want to know a bit more about it's early history, or know what has happened to it. Then we'd like to hear.....
Cheers
