Lotus Elan, a "Perfect Thing"

PostPost by: archigator » Fri Aug 11, 2006 12:41 am

The September 2006 issue of Men's Journal is dedicated to "Perfect Things" and under the heading of the "100 Greatest Gear Classics" they cite the Lotus Elan as the Purist's Sports Car (warts and all). The article has a photo of a Gold Leaf trimed Elan Sprint and ends with the line, "Real men drive Elans."

I read it in the airport earlier this week. I thought the author spent more time adressing the potential downfalls as opposed to the benefits of owning the machine - what a shame , but nice to get the mention anyway

'Real men drive Elans' - maybe so, but they still don't eat quiche.

There are places out in the wide open spaces of the Western US where Real Men will bring home, clean, and cook rattlesnake quiche :!:

Its mighty good too!
There is no cure for Lotus, only treatment.

hey twincamman, is ANYTHING that paul t(unracy) says true? He's the ultimate cry baby. I see he's exploring his future career in Saturday afternoon wrestling. He should do fine at that, all show, and he can continue to ignore reality. Does it really tick off you Canooks the way a little kid Frenchman can run circles around him?

I saw this race , live . With all the cameras view , it is clear than Tracy wasn't overtaking ... was he !?!
The rest (Canada surround)is only animation for promotion (usefull this wet last sunday)... This guy remember me Andy Rouse at his best in the early nineties , able to do a "strike" at the first corner , wreking 60 % of the cars on BTCC ... No!?!
