Obviously the Suzuki Cappucino didn't have a chance in hell against the Elan on those roads... ? Would be a disgrace otherwise with that 700cc engine ....

Actually, it was faster. We were at high altitudes (5000+ft) most of the time, so fuel injection, better gear ratios and a turbo helped make up for the lack of air. (The Elan chokes when I drive it up those mountain roads, still a lot of fun to maintain the speed though)
My friend is essentially a professional driver too, so that helped his cause a lot
Suzuki only weighs 1600lbs and is practically the same dimensions as the Elan
