North Yorkshire Sprint FHC Rebuild
Thanks Phil,
Too true!
Never had a Marina but had one of the first Morris 1100's in Scarborough when my dad got one in 1963. It was a good car and was followed by two more a Crayford conversion one which had a full lift boot and rear window. This was followed by a Morris 1300 GT which I used to tow my Cooper 'S' with to Sprints and hillclimbs.

My dad also has a Morris 1300 GT. As kids In the back I remember we loved the horizontal speedo gauge.
He replaced it with.... a Marina 1300, which wouldn’t get up a hill under its own steam.
Ah, the 70s.......
Regards
Richard

A few shots taken at Hethel around 1975 on a special visit I managed to arrange, I can vaguely remember seeing some of the first Esprit's been made. The bodyshells were outside and I can remember at the rear of the factory lots of scrap and damaged shells.
Cheers

Help!!!
After having my car at local specialist to sort out clutch & brakes (refitting servo after overhaul) just before Christmas I drove home and put car in garage. Now three months later I decided to get car out for a run but it wouldn't start. I removed plugs which looked ok and disconnected the coil and turned engine over to get oil pressure up. After refitting plugs I tried to start up but to no avail, I've checked .here's fuel in tank and my thoughts are fuel may not be getting through. Just wondered how much turning it needs to get fuel through.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Hi Ian,
If you have Weber carburettors, remove the round jet cover and one of the large main jet stacks and you will be able to see the fuel level with a small torch. If you can see it then it is being pumped and probably OK.

Hi Ian
I sometimes used to have to recharge the battery and have a second go when the car had been standing for a while as it can take a few minutes to fill the carbs with the manual pump.
If that turns out to be the issue then a priming pump does the trick. I fitted an electric pump in the boot solely for priming if the car has been standing for a while. Last week started first time after standing for 9 months, after 30 seconds of priming. Must not leave it that long this year!

Hi all,
After giving a lot of thought to it I’ve decided to sell my beloved Sprint. I’m finding getting in and out more and more difficult plus I just don’t have the time to go out in it anymore.
I’ve owned the car now for 49 years and in that time it’s been a pleasure drive it, on my thread here there is lots of information on it and what I’ve done to in that time.
I would welcome your thoughts on what I should be asking for it, I have an idea but before advertising it input from fellow members would be greatly appreciated.
bit of an emotional time this!!!
Many thanks
