Gordon - thank you for your kind words.

Mark - the Elans look as if they were separated at birth.

Etienne, you`ve bought a left hand drive chassis.
Yesterday we had an entry for the Hope Show classic car section. Not being one to "sit and display" a pal took my entry and we all went together. He didn`t win anything as the judges refused to accept that it was an original 4 seater Elan:

New 26R style headlights fitted by my mate Alan for me recently (with Kelsport H4 lamps) and pretty happy with the result.
With spring in the air I think time I took the roof off though.

Hi Etienne,

why the spare chassis/frame? I thought your priority was fitting a twin-cam engine; seems like you have much bigger plans

Cheers

Well, after having it seen by several people, the conclusion seems to be that the actual (potentially original) chassis had been too much butchered to have the Alfa engine fitted that it would have been a real pain to fit again a Lotus twincam in it. So no choice but new chassis.

The bad side is that it will cost me dear, the good side is that once all this is done, the car should be sorted for good. I just have to eat pasta for a few years :D

Nothing wrong with Pasta; just don't let the English cook it for you
