If you have a 1962 Lotus, I'm guessing it's not an Elan.
However, what you need to do to obtain a Heritage Certificate for any Lotus is to contact Andy Graham, the Lotus archivist at the factory, with all the details you have of your car. His email is [email protected]

Oddly enough my friend in France sent me an e-mail shortly after I wrote my tons of looking for info verbage on lotus.net (without him even knowing) that I was trolling for the exact data contact info you just were so kind to take the time to send me.
Therefore 'yes' I'm working with Andy now on the matter.
