So what does your Elan/Plus2 look like today?
This is one of my all time favorate elan pictures.

Saturday was a leisurely drive out for lunch with my wife, but yesterday was a spirited stretching of the legs on my own. I did a couple of overtakes which made me feel slightly embarrassed as they were downright hooligan like. It's just way too easy.

Jon,
on the contrary to Leslie, I think the wheels look great. Leslie's view on wheels may be more pure than mine, but he hasn't spotted the lack of a "normal" stripe blending into the rear bumper. There was a topic running just over a year ago which discussed the sidewinders and the various ways in which they have been fitted, either by the factory or subsequently by restoring owners. Your solution to fit a pinstripe at the rear bumper is one that we discussed at the time and it looks really good.
Regards
Kindest regards

Shame about wheels
I still have the original wheels in my garage with the chrome embelishes,
I used to run plus two steel wheels about fifteen years ago, I switched to minilites about two years ago, I would kind of say I like the car on all sets I have

I replaced the stripes around 1997 the old ones had faded, I had the back, solid gold stripe and just couldn't get it to look right so I didn't put them on. I don't have a pin stipe maybe a photo illusion.

Finally got the exhaust on my Esprit repaired. I had to get a new one from the UK as no suitable generic muffler that would fit existed in Australia - SJSportscars did a great job and got to me a stainless steel original style muffler, delivered in just in 3 days by DHL. So took it down to my beach house over Easter and swapped it with the Plus 2 which is now back in the garage in Melbourne. Lotus national meeting in Canberra at the end of April and i think I will take the Plus 2 as I have trailered the Elan to the national meetings for lots of years as they have a track day and I love getting my Elan on the track. However i feel like a change and will drive the Plus 2 this time.
cheers
