So what does your Elan/Plus2 look like today?
That green Austin Healey 3000 that I saw to start this topic over a year ago went by the house while I was sanding the windscreen frame. I continued sanding for about 5 minutes and said to my self. Well you know what I said with the temperature at about 75 and the sun out and the leaves turning. I had enough fuel so I took a drive over to Cohasset and got a couple photos.
Thanks to everyone

Met a model maker a couple of months ago & he kindly painted a 1/18 model the same colour of my 1/1 model.
Paint looks a bit grainy in the Photo but I'm pleased with the way it actually does look.

Nice pictures cabc26b! The bridge reminds me of the movie "Lawless". I don't know where you were driving but the bridge in the movie is apparently "Red Oak Covered Bridge" in Meriwether, Georgia.

Well I'm new to Elans having just had mine for 3 weeks now. I found this site whilst messing about on my BlackBerry while away on holiday getting some winter sun. My wife is enjoying reading on her Kindle whistle I am lost in a virtual world of Lotus Elans. What could be better? Although I am missing the Elan already. I bought the car as an impulse purchase from a friend. I'm afraid I bought it on the spur of the moment without consulting my wife. She went out one Tuesday morning and when she returned home in the afternoon I was the proud owner of SYS 11G a 1968 car registered in Scotland in 1969 I am the 5th owner and it is a nice original car. Too good to miss. One day my wife will forgive me or find some other reason to give me a hard time. Actually she quite likes the Lotus.
It's not the first old car I have bought. I have a 1928 Austin Seven Chummy a 1926 Austin 12 Clifton Tourer which I wish to sell a 1925 3 litre Bentley which we drive all over Europe in. And finally a 1965 Austin Healey Sprite which I purchased off eBay without seeing which was a big mistake but is now taking shape. Back to the Elan I have driven it for 500 miles already and it is a beautiful car to drive and brings back memories of 60's and 70's driving. I'm looking forward to many miles of happy motoring in it as it will be used a lot as I don't have a moden car.
I don't have the chassis number to hand but if anybody recognises the car I would be pleased to hear from you. My friend owned it for 3 years from October 2009

Hi Spyder Fan - I have not seen a +2 with bolt-ons before. Is that "factory" or your work?
Hi Evan J,
I just got back from 4 days away displaying my S4 Supersprint at the Birmingham NEC Classic car show, so apologies for not replying sooner. My +2 is a Spyder Zetec conversion and uses Ford Sierra uprights and hubs with standard bolt on pattern. It is possible to convert these hubs to spinners if you want the real authentic look, but I'm happy with bolt ons. You can read about the conversion on spyders website http://www.spydercars.co.uk/ford_zetec.htm
Here's my S4 Supersprint at the NEC yesterday, it also has Sierra uprights and bolt ons.
Kindest regards
Alan Thomas
