Magnificent achievement! Can it really be three years since you started? I must be getting old quickly.

We did it!
THREE YEARS ago I spotted Steve Lyle’s red Elan Sprint and shortly thereafter bought this project. In the time since our Okie Boys with help from those in the community and around the country assembled this S3 we named Jack in honor of the late Jack Martin who started the project.
Today we returned from a THREE DAY over 700 mile round trip tour to Eureka Springs, AR and southern Missouri.
We learned even more about the car and what more it needs! But it made it there and back strongly and safely and I even troubleshooted a few unexpected speed bumps on my own based on experience earned while assembling the car.
Several people drove Jack through the twisty mountain roads and the joy was shared by all.
In no particular order, I’d like to thank the following people for their knowledge, advice, efforts, time, muscle, space and encouragement to get this project home. I do apologize if I unintentionally overlooked someone from the following list.
Now that I DO KNOW [my car named] JACK, and I do know more about cars, I therefore no longer “Don’t Know Jack.” Thus this thread has come to its sweet ending. Keep your eyes posted on the forum for Jack and my next adventures!
Thank You All!

Neil,
Here is a note from Jack's wife. I am copying it below.
Neil,
I am so thrilled to see the finished Elan. I
am Jack's wife. He would be so happy that
the S3 is back on the road. I live about 45
minutes from Eureka Springs and would
have loved to drive over to see her all back
together. Enjoy every minute behind the
wheel.
