So what does your Elan/Plus2 look like today?
Chancer wrote:I had to recently find a new storage location for my Elan S4 coup? on the hurry up, she had been tucked away with a load of racing Panhards including single seaters but the site was being sold, I eventually found someone to take her under their wing so to speak!!!
Here she is en route:
And here she is in her her current but hopefully not final resting place:
She is in good company dont you think?
I am having a bit of trouble getting the spare wheel to fit in the boot, do you think its the wrong size
Yes, however the tail wheel on the 1521 Broussard would fit nicely.

Made it to Goodwood on Saturday the queue to get in was an hour long so overheating was a worry as the dynamo was offline due to broken brush springs so no of starts was also a limiting factor, but we got there and here are the pictures to prove it,
parked right next to an S4 SE too

I knew that this forum was full of anoraks but I am impressed that you recognised it just from one half of the tail.
P.S. I thought it was a Morane-Saulnier, there is one that takes off over my house sometimes, I will check next time I am there.

My daily driver (VW Passat Wagon) was in the shop overnight and they gave me the pickup truck for a loaner. The change in perspective from the Elan is dramatic, to say nothing of the reduction in agility.

I love the sound of a torque wrench in the morning. Sounds like... progress.

I have really enjoyed this thread so I better chip in with a few recent photos of my S2. Car was restored 30 years ago and the resto is showing it's age but still looks pretty good in photos.
I bought the repro hubcaps many years ago but never fitted them because I wasn't sure I liked the look. As it is the 50th anniversary and the club has a few events this year I thought I would try them on.
I am getting used to them.

This kind of thing used to be a yearly (or close to it) for a few years type of thing back when Elans were fun and cheap to buy. $1900 and a tank of diesel brought this one home. It's come a long way since I purchased it back in May of 1999 and still has a ways to go.

It isn't. It's just the right size. Everything else is too big!!

Just back from a totally trouble free few thousand miles around northern Spain and thought that you might like to have a peep at some photographs. Stunning place - great food and wine - roads to die for from dirt to billiard table smooth and SO many corners! Heaven.
Spot the lardy arsed one with a smaller boot than the Elan - progress...............?
Lots more if you would like to see them.
