So what does your Elan/Plus2 look like today?
Andy, John, Frank and James,
Congratulations to you all on the progress and/or completion of your lovely Elans. It is wonderful to see them coming back to the road! And they are a delightful array of colors and series too. WOW!

Until i had a look at the pictures you posted on Yahoo groups, I never would have considered navy blue for my Sprint. The combination of blue over white and silver bumpers is really stunning.
I had to see if I could find you on LotusElan.net.
I never liked the gold bumpers on Sprints and have always planned to change mine to silver.
Is the navy blue a standard Lotus color? If not, would you say where it's from?
Same for the white, Lotus white?
The "ELAN SPRINT" side stripe, was that painted on or tape?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm really taken by that combination, it just works!

Thanks Clay. I posted the color codes and some pictures in the thread below. All Mercedes colors. I used single stage paint and color sanded. Stripes were made for me by a guy in the UK (search stripes) he posts here.

It is close to the orginal blue color but not with the purple tinge. I looked at so many colors before deciding. I had already picked out the slightly cream tinted white, also a mercedes color.

I can't believe I am going to say this.... but that Plus2 really does look good... well done
The car looks cleaner because the chrome sill strips have been removed. I am considering if I need mine but if I lose them I will be left with lots of clip holes. If I was paying for a respray I would defo remove the strips.

Thanks Gordon
Yep, Jason...it 'looks' cleaner without the strips.
But, as I found out last winter.....they seem to have a function beyond aesthetic.
They seem to stop mud ingress on the lower part of the doors.
So, they may be going back on soon!

Driving in the mud!!! Rain was a challenge for mine; headlights dropping down everytime I took my foot off of the throttle and wipers barely wiping. I have now motorised the headlights but still not sure I am ready for mud.

I had to recently find a new storage location for my Elan S4 coup? on the hurry up, she had been tucked away with a load of racing Panhards including single seaters but the site was being sold, I eventually found someone to take her under their wing so to speak!!!
Here she is en route:
And here she is in her her current but hopefully not final resting place:
She is in good company dont you think?
Can anyone identify what she is sheltering under?
I am having a bit of trouble getting the spare wheel to fit in the boot, do you think its the wrong size
