So what does your Elan/Plus2 look like today?
So, I have made zero progress since buttoning up the bottom end of the engine. Household projects and the ongoing saga of keeping the '56 Chevy on the road have consumed a lot of time over the past several months. The long block, hidden under the plastic bag, is ready to paint after I installed new crank bearings (.010/.010 after an unexpected regrind), cam bearings, and stock rings. I hope to disassemble the head this week to see how many additional retirement check $$ I have to spend to correct whatever deficiencies there are.
The car is starting to accumulate "stuff". That must mean it is time to clear it off and get back to work on it.

Looks great Holywood. Who needs a windshield in Southern Cali anyway!

That's a nice looking car, the colours work very well
I agree with Greg. FWIW I'd also remove the chrome strip ........ and black the sill....We Elan owners should always black our sills

James,
Glad you posted the photo taken outside. The one in the garage did not due justice to the car.

Thank you Jon.
It is Wedgewood Blue. And yes, I am inclined to leave the wheels alone. It's lighter that way anyhow!
It sits a bit high. It's on regular Lotus suspension, so not much I can do about it, although it handles beautifully, and the ground clearance is nice.

Looks like it's sitting just right to me
Lovely looking car, gorgeous period colour and I agree the trim rings would contribute little particularly on the silver wheels.
PS. Don't forget to satin black the sills

Ah - all you S4 owners out there just look and be jealous!!
Lovely car, just needs the sill bottoms painting black - not the bumpers chaps, wrong colour combination!
As to the wheel trims I think they do look good and add a little sparkle. Yes they scratch the paint a little but if you Waxoil or equivalent before fitting there is no corrosion issue.
Well done Sir...................looks fantastic.
