If you like blue this is Lotus Elise Laser Blue. Not an Elan colour but does get admired. It is a very fine metallic. If I coud be have been fussy when buying my Elan I prefer yellow or dark green.

I believe it is the elcheapo Eastwood Mulsanne Blue, no clear, no buffing, just single stage paint. Just wanted okay paint on the car to get the mechanical bits together and will do a proper job sometime before I die maybe?
Other vehicles I have got creative and mixed my own DupliColor Paint Shop paint. Easy, and you can add other pigments and metallics. Sort of fun.

For a cheapo paint, it looks great. My wife loves it...therefore, my project will be that color. I also think it looks perfect on the car. I also like the body color bumpers...tho the silver may offer an interesting contrast. Thanks for the info.

that's a compliment, thanks
It took a long time to decide, based on what's available in N America

I'm in Oregon. I'm taking the car through a community college program. I did the same thing about 10 years ago with a Europa. That one came out so good I didn't want to drive it. The Elan will be a driver...tho she'll probably look better than when she left the factory.

Another fantastic blue that is a Lotus colour is what my former Esprit wore, basically the same shade as the Essex cars a few years earlier:
I think the paint code was L07 but don't quote me on that.

Alan, are you changing top colour? 3 Litres will be enough if not changing for the top, 5 will be more than if not. Or are you planning on 2 litres of white, and 3 top.
How expensive is the paint?

I'm keeping Lagoon blue.
Ok. So 3 litres for Lagoon blue.
2 litres for Citrus white.
1 litre Talbot gold bumpers.
If i changed the colour i would need to be shot at dawn. Couldn't do that no way.
Does that sound right.

JonB wrote:Is that French or Cerulean Blue?
Either way, it looks nice. But not a period colour for a 1970 S4 I think (French Blue is on the chart and it looks darker).
This is French Blue...not my own car, but the colour is identical to mine.
Edit...my memory is going, this is the original French Blue below the car pic...not a great photo though.
