0113G would have come off the production line in April or May 1970 as a Series 4

Afraid I have no further data but contact Andy Graham again with your new discovery.

I cropped your photo and played with the edit settings on my iPad. Best I could come up with, hope it helps:-

Wondering if the first no. is a date? 1st July 1986? There appears to be a dot in between like 1.7.86

With regard to enquiring with the DVLA via V888 form. They always used to refuse to give data to people abroad, they have now refused it for domestic enquiries too. They have no way of tracing anything by chassis no. so that avenue is closed I’m afraid.

Hello Steve,

Indeed, It looks like a date, and it would correspond to the reconstruction period at Christopher Neil.

I will check with Andy Graham from Lotus for VIN 0113G

Thank you for your help

I bought my chassis in July 1980, and it was not galvanised. I don’t know when Lotus started using galvanised chassis, but your chassis looks galvanised, so I think the chassis is more recent than July 1980.

Hope this helps more than it confuses,

Richard Hawkins
