Ok, so one is a Caterham and not a Lotus, but the DNA is close!

Graeme, does Mr Microsoft drive? My Bill Gates was a wild DJ from Brisbane who purchased my car new after racing his S1 which recently moved back to the UK.

Bill is also know for putting the Bee Gee's together, he ran a talent quest in a club, the story goes from Bill, one week he had no talent, so he called on his mates... the rest is history. Sony music fly him to Sydney every year to have a birthday lunch with his old cronies!

He hosted many wild parties at his home over looking the river in Brisbane when the Tasman Series drivers were in town.. the stories shared are extremely colourful!

This is a picture taken loading the car for its first test drive with Bill on passenger side and Jim Bertram his mechanic and co driver (who small world Jim knew my parents)

If the real Mr. Microsoft did drive, then his car would randomly come to a stop, and he would need to shut it off and restart it again... Oh, and its history would suddenly, and inexplicably belong to someone else...

... and the occasional rules update would require him to retire the car and buy/build another.

Mr. Microsoft may not have driven an Elan, but he did own (no idea if he still does) a Porsche 959 and his purchase of it was related to the passage of the 'show and display' loophole in the US laws regarding vehicle imports.
