He'll see a post and will not be able to resist
(I predict he's struggling not to make a witty comment in response to your posting in the "Club Lotus Elan Section - An Update" thread ..........I know I am!)
Morning RD ..........Go on, You know you want to

A bit late in the day to reply to your thread, but I was busy with my thread which Pete pointed out predates yours, but actually my thread is predated by another thread mostly to do with over priced Sprints
If badly fitted stripes bug you then please don't look at the picture below, if only because it's not really a good scan as the original picture covers 2 pages in a book.
I will be fitting stripes to the wrong car shortly, and the words will be wrong as well. Hopefully they will be fitted correctly, I will be asking Tim for approval on that point and then running straight to Adam to sort them out if not!
BTW: Chrome strips between the bumper and nose bug me, as do side repeaters and badges; none of these will be on my car.

Yes, it's "Feet Above Sea Level". I believe the numbers are fairly accurate even if the characterisations aren't!
And yes, I'm back...sort of...wouldn't want to miss out on things like:
elan-f14/elan-prague-lonnnnnng-story-t21257.html
Just wish there was more about S3's! The lack of that is what bugs me!

Ah yes, the loooong post, the one in which Jimmy Jack implied that Mrs T is a figment.
Well that figment gave me a right old ear-bashing on her way out to earn a crust this morning. It went along the lines of ..."and don't waste all day on that computer... do the washing... clean the bogs and basins.. blah, blah... shopping.... and don't forget to put the black bin out.... blah... when are you going to start decorating the bathroom/bedroom/fit a new kitchen/porch.... you are supposed to be retired and therefore MUST have plenty of time on your hands...etc. and don't go out in that smelly old car waving at strange men near the Cat & Fiddle...... blah..."

Actually Rick is tall and slim, I'm middle-sized and rotund and Jimmy Jack does look remarkably like a smaller version of Corbet; he even dresses the same.
Rumour has it that, in a former life, he was the inspiration for Arkwight in Open all Hours- even the bits (large bits) about Nurse Gladys Emmanuel. Having made and lost a fortune in the wet-fish trade he bought a castle in Derbyshire which he then swapped for a bungalow (well, he's got nothing upstairs) and a mini-JCB. Strange, but true. Mostly.
Cheers,
Pete.

Actually, I like your Elan without the sticker stripe, Alan. It looks very neat as is. Nice color, too.

Right, can't stand the truth eh? If that's your attitude, I'm going to take myself off to an island and not going to post for a week.
Cheers,
Pete.

Thanks Andy,
Although the paint job is probably one of the best that can be bought there are a few areas where the join between the two colours isn't quite perfect, therefore at least a coach line is needed. The stripes that Adam (Pastapesto) has made for me are 2 part vinyl and therefore can be removed and changed quite easily. There is a single piece Gold vinyl applied first and then the stripes and lettering are applied on top. The fun part is that the lettering is easy to change as the mood or occasion permits. TEAM THOMAS, ELAN SUPERSPRINT, RECYCLED MIATA, you name it, I'm going to have some fun
My wife chose the colour having fell in love with it at one of the annual meetings, it's certainly not a colour scheme for shrinking violets and I'm sure people will notice the car.
Kindest regards
Alan Thomas
