Hi there,
If you want an alternative, I have driven my little Sprint to Morges in Switzerland at the beginning of October for the Swiss Classic Car Meet for the last 4 years,
http://www.british-cars.ch/index_a.html
More Lotus cars there than most Lotus meetings (in the UK at least) and loads of other interesting British cars. No silly entrance fees either, just turn up and park. There is usually the Geneva Classics show the same weekend so even more classics to enjoy.

We usually take two days to drive down and two days to drive back, Crossing the Jura mountains into Switzerland with the roof down is amazing as are the hairpin bends (except when there is snow). We don't tend to book anything finding small hotel and b&bs on the way.
Last year we stopped off at Mulhouse to look at the car museum there, Bugatti cars everywhere!!
The other 'advantage' is stopping off at Reims on the way back and buying Champagne!!

Hi, Carl
What a great idea. Its in my to do list now! I will def' have a look at that. I love Alpine touring!
Might also have a go at Octoberfest again this year. Its a few years since I had a go at the death by beer tents. What a show!
Have fun whatever you do...
Alex.

If anybody is interested I can recommend nice places to stay on the way. For TOH Troyes has a McArthur Glen discount outlet center, so everybody is happy.... Just remember to leave room for the Champagne on the way back

There you go... another reason I should have kept my +2's.
Ah Well.
How's about lining this trip up for next year? Just a thought!
