So what does your Elan/Plus2 look like today?

PostPost by: europatek » Thu Mar 08, 2012 5:55 am

After a quick wash and clean ready for the historic racing at Philip Island this weekend. Not competing just
watching and displaying the car with other Lotus Club Victoria members. Should be a great weekend of racing and classic motoring. The event is celebrating 60yrs of Lotus engineering. No mention of 50yrs for the Elan or Mk1 Cortina though.

Hello Gary,
I forgot to ask what the red was from. When I take my wheels over to him, I'll ask.

Here is what my Elan looks like today. I'm lucky not to have the snow and ice to contend with, I just did not have the time to get on the road, until today.
It sparked more face to face conversations than I have had all month. I need to get out more.

Well I got out the other day and apparently so did an unmarked police car!!

Only 81? I should be ashamed of myself, but then I am running in new mains and big ends.............. :D

Did he buy that as a excuse?

Back in the '60s, a friend of mine's brother bought a Hemi Plymouth. He was caught doing over 100 mph and his excuse was that he just finished washing it and it needed touchless drying!

Hello bastOn, that was nice that the officer gave you a picture of you speeding. I only get a ticket with a "HAVE A NICE DAY"

The crosshairs are a bit scarey!

But at least they're easy to spot against the black bumper

How cruel can a chap get...........................?

Sunday morning, virtually empty dual carriageway, pulled out onto it from a slip road, accelerated as you do - but in front of this unmarked car. Knew nothing until summons arrived in the post. Have they nothing better to do? Now I have to do a speed awareness course! I know all about speeding - I have been doing it since I was 17. Are they going to teach me how to go faster still.........:D

Jeez......... Doing 81 in the slow lane over here will get you run over by an 18 wheeler.

What about that radar absorbent matt black paint used on F117's? And I am proud to know you :). Hope the picture will be framed and hung on the wall.
