hmm not so sure that would be possible, any ideas on etch or print/anodised etc and plate thickness, I do know the early plates were 25swg?

fwiw I've seen a number of repro plates, some of them old enough to be "period", and all of them showed rather easily distinguishable discrepancies with genuine ones (fonts, positionning, printing technology etc.) I don't think anyone looking into it could really be fooled if that's the purpose (if not it does not matter)...

Send email to TTR, Tony/Eddie hold register and can let you know if it’s got provenance. He will also let you know of genuine cars that may be available.
What exactly is your friend after? There’s a late S1 26R at Fantasy Junction I understand.
This is mine

I can confirm that is the plate that was on the 26R-S2-18 when I sold it almost forty years ago. A very original car. (now in the Barber Motorsport Museum)

When I contacted TT about his register of 26Rs a few years ago he still had me down as owning 26R/5 and I sold that in the mid eighties so be cautious with the registry although I think that is probably the best source.

Anyone know where 26R 5 is? I have some early history of the car that should be passed on.

Hi Alan, no the 26R was delivered with a Cosworth from new, the engine is still in the car, my S2 26R was ordered with group IV engine which was all steel internals and dry sump and delivered to Australia where it was successful in long distance races.
