I inherited my late Fathers '74 +2 this year which he bought in '78 so 46 years in the same family isn't bad going. No intention to ever sell it either!

Great stuff Bill...It's nice to hear such loyalty...I would think you must be unique...if not you must be in a very small select club.
I've owned my 1969 S4 FHC for around 45 years so I've a bit to go to match you!!...I've never thought for one moment about selling it.

Ill--will
I AM ROLLING 58,000 MILES. Tough to travel far on the rock without teaching her to swim.

Nice to see the photo of your sprint on my Max Jax from 10 years ago - you came a long way to find that car.
Life has interrupted the reno of my 72 Sprint FHC - my new wife, who I met just after you left, suffered a severe stroke and passed away two weeks ago. Life IS a bitch!
Thanks to all for your interest, 26/0528 is off to the All British Field Meet in Vancouver. along with 500 other brit vehicles May18th.
Cheers to all!!

Congratulations Bill, we stopped by your place a number of years ago when we were visiting friends on the Island. I'm a relative newcomer to the Elan family having bought my car in 1969, still enjoying driving it on the less enjoyable roads of Ontario than BC.

Fantastic. For some reason I seem to have kept my various Lotus cars less than 10 years, then go to another. Some I wish I would have kept. This 66 Elan is my 9th Lotus, but only had since about October- quite enjoying it.
Is there an ‘All British’ in Victoria this year? I am in Port Angeles, so have taken the ferry over and wandered around it in the past (I should go through pictures, see if your car was there).

I'm 83 too now but I've only owned my Elan (or does she own me) for 55 years !
She has one previous owner/slave: the well known Malcolm Ricketts.
There's plenty of info about my S3 coupe on this forum, because I have frequently posted msgs about tricks & foibles that I've done or overcome.
It seems to be a trait of Elan owners that they actually hang on to ownership. I sent a letter once to Club Lotus magazine, pleased that I has owned it so long, but the letter was ignored, I guess the situation was all too common.

There is no cure for Lotus, only treatment.
