Reunited with my Elan after 47 years.

PostPost by: dpchamp87 » Fri Feb 25, 2022 9:06 pm

Finished! (unless the car knows otherwise...). It was not the easiest restoration due to the state of the car but its marvelous to be reunited with it. It has its show debut tomorrow in Lakewood Ranch Florida and if anyone on the forum is attending please stop by to say hello.

Lovely job, and a nice story.

Apart from the obvious inconvenience of RHD, are there problems with vehicle registration/insurance etc., in US? I’d assumed it was pretty much ok.

It's a none issue for registration/insurance in experience. I don't think they even ask or care.

It's not much of an issue for driving either.

What a fabulous looking car-you must be properly chuffed! Congrats and thanks for sharing-please let us know how it drives too. Cheers.

Nice job, Looks great.

Will you leave it in Florida? Two of my Elans are with me in Florida, but later this year one will go back to Ohio.

No problem so far. Lets face it even if it was LHD I would only be 3 feet further left!
