I like the colour. I think your Elan will look superb in that shade.

Many years ago, my first Elan had been painted silver by the factory...not sure that that would have suited it.

While tartan red may not have been a standard lotus offering, I am positive from the evidence, it was original on this car.
I'm not all that concerned on other colors on other cars but it certainly has been a big learning curve to find and use online color detection and color offering from different sources. The final piece of the puzzle is to obtain color mixing code for Dupont or PPG here in the US. I have always done my own painting.

I like Tartan red, that's the colour I painted my S2. I believe it was an Elite colour.

I like to see cars in period colours.
