..............I just can't keep my mouth shut: none of the shown tyres are adequate for a 1965 elan by performance determined parameters, as most of our cars are tuned (no, not yours, my fellow purists!!!) and get let's say 140hp, you just don't want tyres which are meant for cars with 30 - 90hp. i could probably peel some of those shity tyres right off of the canvas!! ................AND other than the unmentioned corso pirellis, none of the yokos, avons, etc.. found space on that pirelli site cheers sandy

Glen,
That's a terrific idea! I'm going to consider that or something similar!
Thank you,
Frank

Pretty much all of the tyres on this page https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/classi ... tml#page=1 could easily withstand an Elite with 140 bhp
the 145HR13 Cinturato and 155HR13 Michelin XAS are H rated. I used to race a 150bhp Ford Cortina on the XAS. far heavier and more torquey that an Elan.
the Cinturato CN36 tyres are V rated & the 15" versions have N homologation from Porsche saying they are the best tyres for their 1970s 911.
On the subject of how to photograph a pipe and make it look good, the addition of a scantily clad lady worked for Pirelli and tyres. In fact we attempted a similar stance, for which we still make posters https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/classi ... oster.html
However our magazine advertising got banned by the Advertising Standards!

That's a real shame Dougal, as I always looked forward to your adverts...
