That's a very fine looking car Mike. The wheels really set it off. Is that Monaco Commemorative/Rob Walker blue?

Thank you for the chart, Tim. That is outstandingly helpful. I don't see Primrose yellow on the chart. I had thought that Primrose yellow (frequently a Jaguar colour) was a standard colour on Elites and was carried over onto a number of early S1 Elans painted this colour at the factory. Do you have any info on this? best regards, Andrew

I've restored two Elans both painted Ecurie Ecosse Blue, picture attached, the other white strip thorough the doors is a period photo of an original S1 26R here in Australia

Vaughan

Andrew, Lotus used Sunburst and Fiesta yellow. As you say, Primrose yellow was a Jaguar colour.

Thank you Vaughn and Nic, Very helpful information, and I was really hoping for some period 26R pictures! I like the Ecurie Ecosse Flag blue very much. It seems like it has a touch off green to it, which I don't remember from period photos, so perhaps I will mix some up to their new/old formula and see how that looks on a sample panel.

Back in 1969, I painted my frog-eyed Sprite the blue used in late 60s-early 70 by Triumph. It was called Valencia Blue and is a medium non-metalic blue. I have one more Elan to restore, another S3 dhc that the original owner converted to 26R back in late 60s, I intend to paint it that same Valencia blue and the 26R wheels in orange. I;m sure there have got to be Triumph Tr6 and GT6 web-sites which will illustrate this period color.

Thank you, gentlemen. I had seen pictures of your car batfish, and had wondered what colour it is. I love the pictures (especially with colour names/codes identified). Please keep them coming!
