A bit of a sad commentary, but I was blissfully unaware of the term Baby Elan until I joined this site.

Well i bow to your superior knowledge (i only had Turbo's so not my strong point) but do you agree the M100 Variants are still a Lotus Elan model in the same way a Sprint or +2 is?
Don't forget Lotus Sold the rights to the Elan to Kia in much the same way they did with the Seven so there is such a thing as the Kia Elan lol (was told that's the reason there isn't a new Elan (they don't own the name anymore) but could be wrong)

I think we all know this site is for the 1960s/1970s Type 26, 36, 45 and 50 Elans.
The 1990 Elan is catered for on another very active forum.

If you park your Elan next to almost any modern car on the roads these days it does look like a 'baby'...It would probably fit inside most modern cars

Please, the +2 caters to boulevardiers. I agree that "baby" Elan is thoroughly annoying but that the transgression from the Elan to the Elan (M100) is not nearly offensive as from the Elite (Type 14) to the 1970s Elite.

Not meaning to P anyone off, but I like the term. I don't know why anyone would get wrapped around the axle when they hear it.

Well that's all right then, just so there there but not mingling with the "Proper" Elan owners

We started the website about the same time Lotus Elan Central (LotusElan.com), which catered to the 1990's Elan. We both were passionate about different eras of Lotus. Each website focused on different models. Lotus Elan Central has been active and inactive over the last 15 years. We never expanded into M100 in respect to the other site.
